Backstory

Gigi reached out to Lana by sending her a letter.

Gigi recruited Lana because Lana had piled up a massive amount of medical debt due to an unknown chronic illness that even required chemotherapy. In Lana’s words, “I don’t know for sure. I went through chemotherapy, and one of my photographs shows my journey through it,” she said, referencing the photos pinned on the bulletin board behind her desk at her salon. They paid Lana very well and even offered to cover all her medical debt, so she accepted the offer.

DiarBen specifically designed Lana to be a dedicated worker at the dress to impress salon, but Lana grew tired of this life and managed to escape. After kidnapping her, DiarBen put up fake missing posters of some developers, creating the illusion of concern. However, unknown to everyone, DiarBen orchestrated Lana's disappearance and is secretly holding her hostage.

Lana's True Story

Lana, known as the nail lady, had a story that began during the April Fool's update 2024. She was shown with tears running down her face, and her diary was found on a shelf next to her desk. This diary was opened to a page where Lana expressed how much she hated her job, feeling overworked and dehumanized. Upon clicking on the diary and the target list, you would receive realistic long toenails and fingernails. Many speculated that this hinted at her exasperation with doing people's nails; she would prefer to make players "ugly" rather than personally leaving.

April 20th, 2024 Update

On the 4/20/24 update, a new page of Lana's diary was revealed and she expresses the desire for more revenge than before. Alongside her nail station, a white, ripped dress is displayed on a stand; upon clicking on this dress, a message will appear as "????."

In one of her diary entries, her Roblox User ID, "5759585595." When entering this id into a Roblox URL, you'll be taken to Lana's account (LanaDoesNails) Upon closer inspection, her drawer contains a slip of paper that also features her Roblox User ID. If you go to her profile, her description reads:

May 17, 2024 Update

As of the 5/17/24 update, a new page reveals that a doppelganger has taken over Lana's seat at the salon. She states that Motoprincesss has kidnapped her and is holding her hostage at a closed location.

June 29, 2024 Update

Lana's Account & Contents

Lana has published 7 games, 3 private games and 4 public games. The games are Forest, Questionnaire, Sanningens Galleri, and The House I Sense Before Me. The 3 private games are sserpmi ot sserd, Meat Room, and The Fortress. The Fortress used to be public but it was privated by Lana after the Dress To Impress Halloween update.

Forest

"Forest" is the first game that players can use to explore deeper into Lana's disappearance. Entering into the game begins a pathway towards a bigger sunflower maze, with Lana doppelgangers impacting the way.

Along the path, there are small sentences that reveal parts of, what can be implied to be, Lana's history. In summary, there was a girl that was diagnosed with a terminal illness, leading to the financial decline of her family and friends. Reaching to the end of this path brings players into a portal for the sunflower maze; turning right would reveal a grave with Lana's name engraved into it.

To get through the maze, players will need to follow the paintings and the sunflowers within its path. However, there are more Lana doppelgangers that will interfere with this process; it is advised to hide in bushes along the corners of the maze. After reaching the end, there is a script of code that reads:

Questionnaire

"Questionnaire" is a game where players can interact with Lana and her associates for the sake of discovering more information. This game is only useful if Lana is there. Nonetheless, players are free to explore the area to find gravestones, idle tables, sunflowers, and other details scattered around. You can find a cabin when walking out of the map and into the fields of this game.

"The Fortress"

Along with that the Roblox account also has a group named …Saudade, which translates to a feeling of longing or melancholy. In this group as of April 20th, 2024, there were open applications to work with Lana, these questions were on it:

1. Are you Affiliated with the Awakening?
2. Are you aware of what will happen to you and your affiliates if you betray us?
3. Describe why your passion is to be a "nail tech" for us.
4. How good are you at hiding generational secrets?
5. You serve to "paint nails" and protect Lana. At all costs.

As of the 20th of August, 2024, the applications in Lana's group to work with her have closed and the message in the groups bio now reads:

"To the Patrons:

Welcome to the birth of an uprising, a new dawn where we stand united against the forces of evil. In Saudade, we forge a path of resilience and strength, sparking a series of events that will reshape our world.

Join our rebellion. Together, we are unstoppable."

At one point, Lana’s avatar outfit had an eye patch and in the Saudade group, she posted, “I do not need an eye patch”. In the beginning of May, 2024, she changed her avatar yet again to wearing all black. There is probably some meaning to all these outfit changes but they have not yet been revealed. Currently, the About section of the Lanadoesnails account says the following:

Trust me. I will be back soon, and my reign will never be over. You've just killed one of me.Just kidding I'm really nice

something has taken over my account. spreading their lies. their agenda. someone on their side. i don't know if you still trust me, but if you do, please help me.

Also, on the group shout it once said “I am real”. Lana’s account usually has these kinds of cryptic messages or the Saudade group shouts end up really cryptic.

Lana's last questionnaire consisted of Nelly and Nathan coming onto her questionnaire exposing what she had done to all of the others. This included taking many body parts from members of Saudade... Lana got mad and then sent out a vote it said "Do you trust Lana?". Majority voted no. Then Lana got very mad. This consisted of many anger outbursts from Lana. Lana then threatened to kill both of them, when Nelly and Nathan said something along the lines of "We are going to put an end to this now." Lana said "Try me." (something along the lines of that). Then everything went dark and Lana said "You have only killed one of me.". Then the questionnaire was ended and everyone was kicked out. The last questionnaire.

CHAPTER TWO:

After Nelly and Nathan killed Lana, the Questionnaire game had updated, which there is a portal and below the portal is the bodies of the executed people: Sunny, Micheal, Rafael, and also Lana. We later find out that Lana is alive again by the help of a player that goes by the name of Agamemnon, which also has his own group named ...Plague. LanaDoesNails had just recently made a game called The Fortress which is a hallway full of doors, and each of the doors holds a different room full of notes and secrets.

2 new doors have been added to The Fortress ( Lana has been experiencing a man in her dreams he said: "how dare you Lana,spread our secrets...though this is not your first misdemeanor" she says she is not scared or afraid of the man in her dreams,she is just curious and tempted. "i don't know what his purpose is" she says "i went through chemotherapy "(Chemotherapy is a drug treatment that uses powerful chemicals to kill fast-growing cells in your body. Chemotherapy is most often used to treat cancer, since cancer cells grow and multiply much more quickly than most cells in the body. Many different chemotherapy drugs are available.) she also says.

I know the Lana this year isn't her. she is in DANGER and will be killed again...

Sanningens Galleri

The Sanningens Galleri or the Truth Galleri is a gallery full of photos of Lana and Agamemnon. The gallery if full of torso mannequins viewing the photos and there are the mannequins circling something. There is another photo of Lana with the monster behind her (most likely kidnapped her) and then replaced her. There is also a photo of lana with no eye. There are also Gallery Rules: Exit the Gallery when the clock stops ticking (we do not know what happens if the clock stopped ticking). And do not go too far into the gallery. Cause if you do there is a jump scare with the skin of the Monster that was behind Lana. And there is a secret farm house (most likely her home) picture.

Badges

There is one badge for this game entitled 'Drömde' which is Swedish for 'Dreamed'. This could be about the monster that Lana has been seeing in her dreams (see poster of 'Have you dreamed this man?' seen in The Fortress). Here is the translated and non-translated versions of the badge description.

Posted April 18th, 2024, This is the first video posted on the lanadoesnails youtube, it shows glitching footage of her nail table and the missing posters behind it (Submiscy and MOTOPRINCESS are confirmed to be dead in the other games but DiarBenOfficial is "seek".) It then switches to the "Symphony of Knocks" badge door in Forest which supposedly leads to the "Cacophany of knocks" badge corridor in The Fortress. Finally, a picture of the man who appears in peoples' dreams appears on screen with the caption:

How dare you Lana Spread our plans As this man appears in people's dreams, it is likely that this video is one of Lana's dreams. Hence the title "awakening".

Published April 19th, 2024 the Description reads: a video from my first dayThis video shows the Dress To Impress map. Lana is being given a tour around "where (she) will be working" by "diarben" (DiarBenOfficial) Diarben is speaking to Lana in red captions but if you turn on the closed caption of the video on youtube Lana is speaking as well. In the background noise of the video we can hear morse code which translates to "BIT THE APPLE" - a reference to the bible story of original sin in which Eve bites the apple of knowledge against God's will. There is also a version of Lana we see a painting of in Sanningens Galleri entitled "Apple" with the description "Once innocent, pure, and serene..." Possibly showing that she pure before she became part of The Awakening. Here is the transcription of the video:

Posted April 21st, 2024 The Description reads: I receive little to no Emotion from the consumers how I wish I was in their place and yet Because of their Ignorance I can't seem to tell them that they're next I'm sorry I couldn't give Them what they wanted I suppose consequences must be faced, ultimately. This video is essentially Lana standing at her grave, complaining about how unfair it is that, even after she exposed the group's secrets, there is still no justice. She says that her pain is on display yet still nobody cares.

This could be two sides of Agamemnon. One part of him is a leader and willing to manipulate others but the other part of him feels bad for what he has done, yet still sees it as justified. But that's only a theory.

This video features two figures - most likely Lana and Agamemnon - having a conversation about a man Lana keeps on seeing in her dreams in what appears to be Agamemnon's office from The Fortress game. The conversation is in red captions with two different fonts to represent the two sides of the conversation, transcribed below (Lana's in bold italic and Agamemnon's in capital italics):

Fortress Security Footage #1

Posted June 19th, 2024 The Description reads: AN EXCERPT FROM LANA: Although I know our doings may be cruel, I would have never expected Alatheia to go against us. It's odd -- Nelly deserved this, why would Alatheia ever take her side? Despite everything, I know I'll miss Alatheia. It just gives me more motivation to enact revenge on Nelly.

This video features Agamemnon and Lana talking to Nelly who is locked in a cell. Nelly has betrayed them and is working against them. Just as Agamemnon is about to have the creature kill Nelly, Alatheia saves her and is killed instead. This is the transcript:

A: Nelly, I hope you aren't terrified. Just be honoured we chose you as the first subject.

A: Your friend, Nathan, wasn't of much use. It only feeds on the alive, it seems.

N: You killed him for nothing then? What in the world?

N: You're a monster.

A: I know.

N: I'll get my revenge

A: Let them in, I need the remote.

A: Nelly is annoying me.

(Two people walk in.)

A: Thank you.

A: Nelly, do you have any last words?

(The camera shifts to back inside the cell, we can now see the creature and Nelly.)

N: You're a terrible person, you'll get what you deserve.

(Somebody enters the cell.)

L: Alatheia?

AA: Nelly, get out! Run! Please don't look back.

N: W-

AA: Shut up and run!

N: Okay okay! And thank y-

(Nelly runs away.)

A: Alatheia, you traitor.

A: Activate the creature. Now.

A: I want this girl dead.

A: NOW!

AA: You're terrible people! And to think I even trusted you.

AA: I've been working with Nelly behind your backs.

AA: And soon all of your plans will fall, and your acts will come to an end.

(Alatheia turns slowly towards the creature, backing up into a corner off-screen)

A: Guards, get out, NOW!

(The two guards leave. We hear the creature approaching, and then we hear cracking and Alatheia screaming.)

L: T cant believe Alatheia would turn on us like that.

L: It hurts to know the Horizon are next.

Posted July 6th, 2024 The Description reads: Clawing mutilating all for a cause.

This video features a black haired figure walking around their house, we are watching them on what appears to be security footage from around the house. Their text is in a different style to the rest of the videos - theirs is black and white compared to the rest of the video where the text is red and black - possibly because they have the "Coterie" . At the end of the video we see The Creation which killed Alatheia in "Fortress Security Footage #1" outside the window. The footage then cuts out and we hear crunching and screaming. We can assume the person in the video is dead. Here's the video transcription:

It's been a while since I left the Coterie

In fact I've forgotten about it

I've cleared my mind of all the bad memories

despite all this, I still feel like I'm being watched

I feel like she's mad that I left.

I'm not sure if she'll ever find me though

The man from the dreams

GAZE INTO MY EYES

Posted July 7th, 2024. 5 seconds long. Description reads: I asked him right after his Awakening -- he was still breathing: L: Where do your eyes see now that your sockets are left chasms? Is it a better light? █: It is beautiful. Sacrifice is beautiful. We assume that 'L' means 'Lana'. The description could link to the man that Lana has been dreaming about as they have no eyes. This 'man' is seen on posters in the game The Fortress.

This video features some drawers to the side and 7 posters of people, 5 which say dead and 2 which say seek. There is a figure standing to the side of the posters who we assume is Lana. The posters each have names on them. Some are hard to read, but the ones I could make out say 'riscoops', 'submiscy' and 'callmehhaley'. We assume that all the players on the posters have either been killed by Lana, or Lana is still looking for them.

If you look in the comments of this video, you see a comment by Lana, pinned by Lana, which reads 'you've been documenting me, i find it okay, i find it useful yet you're capturing the lies of me, gaining traction, disrupting my goal'.

In the August 30th update, Lana disappeared. Her chair had fallen over, and her desk was surrounded with moving boxes. Lana's Salon Was also renamed to "Salon Salon". The shelf in her salon is walk-through and leads to a basement with 2 jail cells, one labeled "Lana #001" and the other labelled "Lana #002". Lana's diary can be found on a drawer on the left side of the room, with the text "Are you hearing me? All the previous journal entries are deceptions. Please trust me. -L" The other page has the number 7198329488: a UserID which leads to the LinaDoesNails account.

Lina's description is "I've always wanted to work for them -- yet she was in my way. When she suddenly disappeared one day, I asked to fill in the gaps she had left behind her... of course, a salon can't function without the owner. I have a feeling everything I've worked for is just temporary."

The Lana clones around the map have disappeared.

On September 2nd, Lina was added to the game and replaced Lana as the nail tech.

The New Message

Blue Secret Room

On September 28th, all traces of Lana have disappeared including the jail cell Lana was in at the secret room. On the walls the original text was not there anymore and there was a new message that said "STAY IN SCHOOL <3". In this room you can finally go into the neon yellow door which in the last update you could not and inside was a blue secret room. This was due to parent complains about the lore being too "scary" for kids.

A few days later Lana's family was leaked on a YouTube video about future updates on callmehaley's channel.

Lana's Halloween Quests

The update on October 19, 2024 added a portal during intermission, which leads to a series of missions about Lana's background.

Chapter 1

In Chapter 1, players spawn in a well-lit area near a well, surrounded by a dark forest. Players are given two minutes to locate Lana's childhood home; this is most easily done by following the patches of white flowers on the ground. Players may encounter an abandoned barn in the middle of the forest, which serves no function.

If no one finds the house in time, all players will die immediately and return to the lobby.

If at least one player succeeds in finding the house, a cutscene launches in which a young Lana says, "Soon... In due time my... is his. Am I even me anymore? I took it. It's too late now. Now I'm leaving my home and my parents for who knows how long. I wonder if I'll ever be free again... He poisoned me, and I'm no longer well. I'm too drained to even pack the few essential items I do own. I wish someone could help me retrieve them... I still need to pack my teddy bear, camera, journal, nail file, Greek tales book, and palette. Could you help me find them and bring them back to me please?" In this cutscene and the quest that follows, Lana can be seen wearing a pink shirt with a white collar and sleeves, black flared jeans, and white sneakers as opposed to her usual white top and skirt.

After the cutscene, players must find and return to Lana the items that she mentioned. While there is no time limit, a two-headed creature roams around the house that will kill the player if it catches them. This creature has been speculated to be Lana's parents, whom were transformed by Agamemnon into one body.

When all of Lana's items have been collected, another cutscene will play of young Lana leaving with her suitcase and boarding a van. During the cutscene, she says, "It's time now... I wonder if I'll be safe there, or if he'll follow me. You [will] see soon enough. You're in my past, you must follow me into my future. Only then will you begin to understand." After this, the chapter ends and players return to the lobby.

Chapter 2

In Chapter 2, players spawn inside the entrance of Home of the Doves Medical Center, the children's hospital that is presumably where Lana stayed during treatment of her illness. Players must navigate through the dark corridors to find pieces of the hospital map while evading Nurse Julie, who will pursue and kill them. Closing doors and stepping on debris will alert her to the player's location, and players may hide in lockers if she is nearby. There is a lot of lore to be found within this chapter.

In Room 3 (Lana's room), one corner of the room is covered in large scribbles of apples and faces. Small text on the left wall says "Took it", and near the door is a large letter "J", possibly for Julie. There is also a digital camera containing pictures of Lana during her stay at the hospital and a journal on the nightstand.

In Nurse Julie's office, there is a painting of Lana and Nurse Julie together on the wall behind the desk. On the desk is a tape recorder from Nurse Julie:

After players gather all of the map pieces, they will have to escape through the medical wing and avoid getting caught by Nurse Julie. If successful, they will be teleported to Chapter 3.

Chapter 3

Chapter 3 begins with a cutscene, which takes place in a version of the usual salon where everything is disorganized -- chairs are overturned, the nail desk has been shifted, and bottles and boxes are everywhere. The dialogue is as follows:

Serena: YOU... YES YOU! COME HERE..! S-sorry for shouting... I just don't know what to do and time is running OUT. Let me start from the top. My name is Serena, and I'm a newly hired clothing designer here. I need your help!

Player: What's going on Serena?

Serena: It's Lana... Tonight's the full blood moon! We're running out of time. Soon, her soul will be completely gone. I had to run. I couldn't help the real Lana. Lina knows who I am and she's working for *him*. If she had seen me...

Player: Where is Lana now?! We have to help her! We need to stop them before it's too late!

Serena: She's trapped in the catacombs. There's a secret entrance to them through this portal behind me. It's how the doppelgängers appear... I can't come with you because of Lina, but I believe in you! Save Lana, and stop Lina!

After this, players walk through the large portal in the back of the salon to enter the maze. In order to successfully complete the maze, they must follow the clusters of lights that appear briefly at each intersection. Alternatively, they can follow the faint red path on the ground. There are also several obstacles throughout the maze that players must avoid, each dealing 1 half-heart of damage upon contact. Once one player finishes the maze, the second cutscene will begin for all players. Haley pops out from around the corner:

Haley: Oh my god, finally! Another human face! Wait, you're not one of them... are you?

Player: I'm real, I'm not a doppelgänger!

Haley: What a relief! My name's Haley, and I'm- I mean, I was a paranormal podcaster. One of my subscribers gave me a tip about ancient catacombs that were under a nail salon of all places! So, of course I had to investigate.

Player: Oh? That's great and all Haley... But I really need to go now, I have someone's soul to save!

Haley: WAIT! You have NO idea what you're about to get yourself into... I should know, since I died here heh. My soul has been trapped here ever since. Lina and that doppelgänger are inside, and they're waiting for you.

Player: I'm so sorry Haley. If I can figure out a way to free your soul, I will. I'm ready to battle their great evil if that's what it comes to!

Haley: Good luck, and uhhh... don't die like me please!

(Cutscene ends, and another one begins.)

Lana?: So, we meet again! Oh don't look so confused. I know you know I'm not the real Lana, and I don't care.

Lina: Lana, or whatever you are, SHUT. UP. I'm sure you know who I am, but you don't know WHAT I AM. My name is Lina, and we've been watching you for a very long time. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't impressed with how much you've managed to figure out.

Player: "Lina, and fake Lana, you need to release the REAL Lana! She doesn't deserve this... You don't have to do Agamemnon's bidding. He doesn't care about you, he only cares about himself!

Lina: HISSSS, don't you DARE. He is most pleased with me. He needs Lana's soul to sacrifice her doppelgängers. Or else EVERYTHING he has built will be destroyed. He is not like us, not a mere mortal. He is a GOD. ...and I worship him, and so should you, if you wish to live.

Player: I REFUSE. This is WRONG, he is evil and he's using you to do his bidding. I won't leave here until you let the real Lana go.

Lina: Very well... What comes next is YOUR fault. Agamemnon, I call upon your glorious power. Master, please transform me so I can obliterate this puny imbecile ONCE AND FOR ALL!

The next scene shows Lina, doppelgänger Lana, and the real Lana crying in her cage while "Temptation" by BSlick and Billy Martin featuring Annapantsu plays. Two hands wrap around the player's face, one white with elongated fingers and the other a human hand with red nails. Lina rises into the air, her fingers grow longer, she grows black tentacles, her skin turns white, and black streaks appear under her white eyes. She also dons a black dress that seems to be part of her tentacles.

There are seven stages to defeat Lina. First, players must grab a scythe from the arena's entrance and destroy Lana's doppelgängers, which spawn out of two red portals in the middle of the arena. Second, rocks rise out of the ground and players must climb on top of one of these to avoid getting harmed by the black liquid that fills the arena. Third, rocks will shoot out from the stage and players must stay out of their paths. Fourth, spikes will rise up out of the ground. Fifth, Lina will come down from the stage and target a player. It is difficult to outrun her, as she moves as fast or faster than a player, and she is invincible during this time. Sixth, Lina will go to the center of the arena and emit circular waves that can harm players. After this, she will become vulnerable and players may hit her with their scythes to defeat her. If not, the cycle repeats until either the player dies or Lina gets defeated. A final cutscene plays upon her defeat:

Lina: NOOO- PLEASE, AGAMEMNON FORGIVE MY WEAKNESS! I- I PROMISE I CAN BE USEFUL. YOU NEED ME. I NEED YOU. PLEASE... (She falls to the ground.)

Lana: (Lana's cage dissolves in golden light.) Y-you did it. Am I finally free?! For the first time in years, I feel whole again. I can't even begin to thank you enough for saving me! Free mani-pedis on me! But after I take a vacation, because I DEFINITELY need one.

(Lana is shown relaxing on the beach. The scene cuts to her room, where she is lying on her bed facing the wall. A dark cloud hovers in the corner.)

Agamemnon: What? You didn't think this was the end of our little story did you?... No, no. It's not over, until I say it's over. Not even the almighty gods of Olympus can stop what is to come... My dear Lana, we shall meet each other soon enough. With Love - Agamemnon.

When the quest is finished, Lana will be working at the Salon for those who complete it. (If you don't complete the quest, Lina will remain there.)
