Dress To Impress

Dress to Impress is a multiplayer dress-up video game developed on the game platform Roblox. Created by owner under the name of Gigi, the game was originally developed in a hot-pink map with inspirations from game Fashion Famous, the Barbie film released in 2023, and Barbie-inspired clothing pieces. Contrary to the final release, where pinks were traded in for high-end designer fashion, the game has since reached immense popularity through various memes and outfits, reaching over 1 million concurrent players on numerous occasions.

Dress To Impress first opened on November 4, 2023 for a small pre-release. The game included a countdown to November 11th and quickly gained popularity. The pre-release lobby featured a small character customization system, allowing players to try a small selection of hairs and items. After the countdown ended on November 11, 2023, the game officially released with the main gameplay loop: a 30 second intermission, 3 minutes to dress up, and a runway period. A month after release, Dress To Impress reached over 37 million visits, 100,000 favorites, and 35,000 likes. During this time, new items, content, and gameplay mechanics were added, such as new runways and Robux items. On December 20, 2023, Roblox deleted the game due to inappropriate content. The game reopened a day later with small changes.
