Cutscene Live Event
The Cutscene Live Event was released on June 7, 2025. This update introduced an in-game cutscene that revealed the Summer 2025 update release date. Players who played before the cutscene began and fully completed the cutscene were awarded the "I Played the Cutscene Event!" badge and the Aquamarine Pose Pack. The event was first announced June 2, 2025 by studiozac on the Dress To Impress Discord Server.
Cutscene
The in-game cutscene took place underwater and featured four mermaids and three mermen. The cutscene lasted over three minutes (assuming it wasn't delayed) and began with Lana sitting in her salon as she began speaking. A few seconds later, the camera panned into the mermaids' cave, followed by a cut to a different angle showing all the mermaids swimming. Players who watched the full cutscene were awarded the "I Played the Cutscene Event!" badge. After the cutscene, players were teleported to the lobby but before they saw a Summer 2025 screen where it revealed the Summer 2025 release date.

Freeplay Mode had various parts of the cutscene visible from outside. Additionally, players could jump down and access parts of the cutscene there. After the first cutscene ended, the developers of DTI announced four more extra times to watch the cutscene, taking note of different timezones. After the cutscene, the game, particularly Freeplay, was broken. Freeplay Mode after the cutscene was changed into the lobby with minimal decorations. The lobby music wasn't playing in certain servers. Once the cutscene ended, if players made an outfit prior to the cutscene, it would convert to the base feminine body given when joining.
