The Black Raveness

My King, please forgive me, I was not expecting your arrival! The Black Raveness, also simply known as Raveness, is a major character in the lore of Dress To Impress. She appears as the central figure in Book 1: The Black Raveness, the dedicated quest for Lina released during the Halloween 2025 update. She is the ancient past representation (or past life) of Lina, living roughly 500 years earlier in ancient Greece.

Apperance

Raveness has a striking, dramatic appearance inspired by ancient Greek aesthetics. She features long, dark flowing hair, pale skin, and elegant facial features that closely resemble those of modern-day Lina. In quest cutscenes, she is shown wearing a long, elegant black gown with feather-like accents, evoking the imagery of ravens. Her overall design is theatrical and mysterious, fitting her role as a renowned singer performing in an amphitheater.

Story

Raveness was once a legendary singer in ancient Greece, celebrated far and wide for her extraordinarily powerful and enchanting voice said to be stronger than "any steel or bone." Crowds gathered to hear her perform, drawn by her rare talent. While preparing for a major performance, she was visited by Agamemnon. He presented her with an enchanted necklace in the shape of a realistic heart, promising that it would make her voice even more magnificent. Trusting his words, she accepted the gift. Instead of enhancing her abilities, the necklace is betrayed her. It stole and sealed away her true vocal power, reducing her legendary voice to something ordinary and mediocre. This tragic event marked her sudden fall from grace and became the core of her story, often narrated as "The Rise and Fall of the Black Raveness." Her silencing is tied to a larger destiny. She was one of a group of fated individuals meant to confront and ultimately destroy Agamemnon. The necklace appears to have been a deliberate attempt to prevent this.
